FAQS

Got a question? Take a look through our frequently asked questions below and if you can’t find the answer then contact us.

Miss Muddy is Australia’s best female only muddy fun run. The course is usually around 5km in length and includes lotsa fun stuff like mud, colour, foam, inflatables and obstacles that are scaled to help first timers and still challenge those more experienced.
The course is designed to cater for all fitness levels, for those that haven’t had a chance to move much lately, you will find it challenging, but you will finish it .. and feel great when you do!! For those a little fitter, you will still get a sweat up and a stitch (from laughing and smiling so hard).Miss Muddy is all about a great day out with friends, family, colleagues or teammates. You can run, jog, walk, crawl, or skip around the course if you wish!
Miss Muddy is not a timed event, you can take your sweet time out there enjoying all the mud, colour, foam and inflatables. There are no prizes for first place, so if you are looking for trophies, this is not that type of 5k.
The age limit for Miss Muddy is 13 and over (based on the date of the event). We normally have Obstacool visit our events for the under 13 girls and boys to play on as well, visit www.obstacool.com.au to see what events they are coming to.
There are no penalties like burpees for missing an obstacle. We encourage everyone to try to complete everything and have awesome helpers to make that happen, but if something is totally freaking you out … definitely leave it and move to the next one.
No. Males can volunteer at our Sumo zone and then give a free ticket to a female friend OR receive a $50 voucher to our merchandise tent to spend on event day.
In the unlikely event that Miss Muddy needs to change venue’s for an event that is already live: No refunds are permitted if the new venue is within 50KM of the original venue location. 50KM will be measured from the original venue to the new venue in a straight line.

Yes all participants must sign a waiver as part of the insurance process.
You can register right up to the day of the event, but be mindful that the event may sell out prior to the event date, and tickets get more expensive the longer you leave to register.
Every 30 minutes we let waves of up to 400 ladies start their awesome adventure. We do this following some warm up and instruction from our legend startline MC Todd. The waves allow the course to flow and minimise the chance of bottlenecks out on course once you start.

Unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds when the event goes ahead. The logistics of setting up and planning the event make it impossible. Just make sure you are good to go before signing up. While it is fun sharing the Miss Muddy experience with friends as part of a team, it is not a requirement. We have a lot of participants that start the event as individual in a wave but finish as part of a group that they met along the way. Fellow participants and our amazing volunteers will be there to help you every step of the way.
To join a team that has been set up by your Team Leader , click on Join a Team in your registration process and you will be able to search for the team name and go from there.
Team Captains can view their team by signing into their account.

If you are a PT, Gym, Corporate or Group buying business that can bring a large group to the event, we can definitely accommodate a discount. Email info@missmuddy.com.au with details on the group and expected numbers and we can work something out for you.
Miss Muddy prides itself on its medical crews that we engage for our events, you will be in good hands.
The colour does wash out of your hair, however we do recommend you take precautions if you’re worried! The colour does tend to stain to lighter hair… Blondes you have been warned! Oiling your hair before the run will help the colour wash out or stand at the back or bring a shower cap. If you’re having trouble washing it after the event, bi-carb soda and anti dandruff shampoo will help get the more stubborn colour out! We do not take any responsibility for additional costs associated with the removal of colour.
We have wash down areas where you can wash as much of the experience off as possible. We are always mindful of water usage, so suggest that you just rinse off as much as you need to get changed before heading into the festival area. Don’t worry about how you look too much though, there will be thousands of other ladies looking like they just completed an obstacle course too. Also bring a clean towel for you car seat for the drive home.
Miss Muddy is neither a charity nor a non-profit organisation, but we do use the event to help raise awareness and funds for national and local charities.
In 2017 our national charity partner is Tour de Cure and we look forward in helping them in their search to cure cancer. (www.tourdecure.com.au)
Sure can, when you register you can choose to donate an additional $5 to your registration which will buy a kids pack that the tour gives to kids when stopping to spread the Be Fit, Be Healthy, Be Happy message.
We would suggest around 45 mins to make sure you get parked, registered, grab a coffee, check out merchandise and the festival area, check your bag, nervous pee and warm up. Earlier wave times are always busier so expect increased waiting for parking, rego and bag-drop at these times.
There is always parking available at Miss Muddy events for a fee of $10 per car, so carpool with your team to save some money. The fee exists to cover rental of the space required, VMS boards to direct vehicles and the parking attendants.
You will need to be at the check in area of the event around 45 mins prior to your wave start with your QR barcode you received at confirmation either printed or on your mobile phone. We will also need one item of ID for over 18’s and a parent / guardian’s ID for under 13’s.
Nothing beats being comfortable, especially when you are taking on 5kms of awesomeness, so we recommend you wear good footwear and comfortable clothes. You will however be crawling through mud, being shot at by our colour cannons and will be getting wet, so if you can’t stand to see your favourite active wear experience that, choose the not so favourite stuff.
  • Copy of your confirmation email with the QR Barcode (printed or on phone).
  • License or method of ID.
  • $10 note for parking fee if driving.
  • Gold coin for bag drop if required.
  • Towel for you and an extra for your car seat if driving.
  • Change of clothes for after the event.
  • Plastic bag to put dirty clothes in afterward.
  • Sunscreen / Bug Repellent if you need it.
  • Cash if you might want food or beverage at the event.
  • Cash or Card if you want to buy any sweet Miss Muddy Merchandise.
You can bring them, but they can’t access the course with you. We don’t charge for spectators or cater for them out on course. There are good viewing areas around the festival area of the start and finish lines and some venues have grandstands with great vantage points. We realise you might want to share the experience with a partner of family, but the other 400 ladies in your wave most certainly do not. And with ice pits, mud pits and a lot of climbing, our participants discretion is our highest priority.
Sorry, NO DOGS or furry friends at any of our events.
Miss Muddy has engaged a professional event photography company called 1Life Images to capture memories from the day out on course. Due to the large amount of inflatable obstacles, we can’t have participants carrying equipment that may cause them or other participants damage. So feel free to take a bunch at the media walls before the start but when you are ready to go, check the phone and camera into bagdrop and focus on having fun and let the professionals capture your experience. You can check out how good our photo team is or contact them at www.1lifeimages.com.
We have at least 3 water stations out on course, some positioned so you can access them twice, as well as water at the finish line. If you have concerns that this might not be enough, we suggest wearing a hydration pack versus a carrying a water bottle to keep your hands free for all the fun.
We have a bag drop available at the event run by volunteers for a gold coin donation. Usually located near the registration area, they will do their best to keep your gear dry and safe until you have finished your race. But do not bring valuables if you are not prepared to lose them as like life … things happen, so don’t risk anything precious as it won’t be covered by your participant insurance.
